What are the eligibility criteria for Express Entry?


To be eligible for Express Entry, you must meet the requirements of one of the following immigration programs:

❶ Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP):

Skilled Work Experience: At least one year of continuous full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience in a skilled occupation within the last ten years.

Language Ability: Take an approved language test and score at least CLB 7 in English or NCLC 7 in French.
💡
Education: Canadian secondary (high school) or post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree, or a foreign equivalent assessed by an approved organization.
💡
Proof of Funds: Demonstrate sufficient funds to support yourself and your family unless you have a valid job offer or are currently able to legally work in Canada.

Admissibility: Be admissible to Canada.
💡
Selection Factors: Score 67 points or higher out of 100 based on age, education, work experience, language ability, and adaptability.

❷ Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP):

Skilled Trade Work Experience: At least two years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade within the last five years.
💡
Job Offer or Certificate: A valid job offer for at least one year or a certificate of qualification in your skilled trade issued by a Canadian authority.

Language Ability: Take an approved language test and score at least CLB 5 for speaking and listening, and CLB 4 for reading and writing.
💡
Proof of Funds: Same as the FSWP.
💡
Admissibility: Be admissible to Canada.

❸ Canadian Experience Class (CEC):

Canadian Work Experience: At least one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the last three years.

Language Ability: Take an approved language test and score at least CLB 7 for NOC 0 or A jobs, or CLB 5 for NOC B jobs.

Admissibility: Be admissible to Canada.

Meeting these eligibility criteria is essential to entering the Express Entry pool and receiving a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
