๐Ÿ’ธ Canada Increases Permanent Residence Fees in 2024

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced an increase in certain permanent residence (PR) fees, effective April 30, 2024. The fee adjustments are based on the cumulative percentage increase to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for Canada over the last two years. The key changes are:

Right of Permanent Residence Fee: Increased from $515 to $575 for the principal applicant and accompanying spouse/partner.

Federal Skilled Workers, Provincial Nominee Program, etc.: Principal applicant fee increased from $850 to $950, accompanying spouse/partner from $850 to $950, and dependent child from $230 to $260.

Live-in Caregiver Program and caregiver pilots: Principal applicant fee increased from $570 to $635, accompanying spouse/partner from $570 to $635, and dependent child from $155 to $175.

Business (federal and Quebec): Principal applicant fee increased from $1,625 to $1,810, accompanying spouse/partner from $850 to $950, and dependent child from $230 to $260.

Family reunification: Sponsorship fee increased from $75 to $85, sponsored principal applicant from $490 to $545, and accompanying spouse/partner from $570 to $635.

The fee increases are a direct result of the cumulative 10.7% rise in the CPI over the last two years, compared to a 4.1% increase used for the previous 2022 fee adjustments.
